The first week in January Chase woke up at 3am on Wednesday morning complaining and crying about "face" pain. (It was actually inner ear pain.) We took him to the ER that morning and he was diagnosed with a pretty bad ear infection in his left ear. He was put on antibiotics and given some ear drops for the pain. Up to that point he had not had any fever. The next evening he came down with a fever and by Friday morning he had a high fever over 103 degees and was miserable. I took him to his primary care doctor and he now had two very bad ear infections. The antibiotic was changed and he was put on a regimen of Tylenol/Ibuprofen to keep his fever down. We really had a hard time keeping his fever down and he ended up with diarrea and vomiting as well. We thought for sure we were going to end up in the ER again, but luckily after cool water baths and control of his vomiting, we were able to make Chase comfortable until he finally recovered by Monday. This was the sickest any of my children have been. (Knock on wood!) Here are some pictures of my little sickie.
